2020 Season Player Evaluations
Each year we hold Player Evaluations for boys and girls in 5th – 8th grade in order to assess their skills and identify the best situation for each child to find success on the field in the Spring. This season evaluations will consist of two parts.
Part 1: Skill Combine
A one-hour session indoors at Nation9 Sports Academy with stations designed to determine proficiency in some basic disciplines of lacrosse (scooping, cradling, catching, shooting, and defending). Players will rotate through stations during their session in small groups. View a video of the drills that will comprise the combine session.
Part 2: Field Play
A 90-minute session at Centercourt on Saturday February 29th. During this session players will have the chance to compete in game situations so coaches can assess their skill in a team setting. Girls Field Play evaluations take place from 3:00 – 4.30 PM and Boys go from 4.30 – 6:00 PM.
Participation is recommended for all so the coaches can best place your child on a team where they will have the best chance at success. Both components are mandatory if your child is trying out for our top level “A” teams.
Our coaches and evaluators will determine the level where each player will be challenged and have the greatest opportunity for success in the spring season. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our coordinators will get back to you.
NOTE: Evaluations are only for players in grades 5-8 only. All players in grades 1-4 are assessed at the start of the regular season in March.
