Boys Program
The Lower Bucks Lacrosse Boys Program is for boys in Pre-K through 8th grade and is designed to develop our young athletes to become complete lacrosse players with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the game. We do this by stressing individual skills within the team play concept. We follow the US Lacrosse Lacrosse Athlete Development Model (LADM) to guide our training and philosophy.
Our goal is to foster a love and respect for the game of lacrosse and to provide our boys with the skills necessary for successful interscholastic high school and hopefully college careers. We compete against other teams in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Lacrosse Association (SEPYLA).
No previous experience is required for any of the age groups. We encourage new players to join at any level. It is never too late to start playing lacrosse.

DIVISIONS
Boys teams are broken down by age and ability level. Player evaluations are held in January to help the coaches assess the skill level of each player and place each boy on the appropriate team. Teams are entered into the SEPYLA division where we believe they will have the greatest chance at success.
All players in these divisions are required to have full equipment. If your son is looking for a basic introduction to lacrosse, check out our TryLax Program.

BOYS 1st/2nd GRADE – “D” DIVISION
The “D” Division is for boys in 1st & 2nd grade who want more time on the field than in the TryLax Program. We teach fundamental skills in an engaging and fast-paced practice format to maximize repetitions and opportunities for improvement while keeping your son moving and involved. The season begins in early March and runs until the weekend before Memorial Day. Games will be played in a 7 vs. 7 format on half size fields with 4’ x 4’ goals. The season concludes with the Bobblehead Classic, a tournament hosted by LBL. No body checking is allowed.

Helmets
The right helmet is a critically important for player safety. LBL requires players to invest in a NOCSAE approved lacrosse helmet. Cascade Lacrosse provides a full spectrum of choices for the beginner to the advanced player. We recommend purchasing a WHITE color helmet to complete the uniformity of the team look. LBL helmet decals will be provided for all players as part of your registration. More info from US Lacrosse… US Lacrosse Statement on Helmets
Protective Equipment
This category includes shoulder pads, arm guards and gloves. Product offerings fall into the “Good , Better , Best” models with entry level products being appropriate and safe for all players. Pricing varies along this spectrum as well. Be sure to try on all equipment before you purchase to make sure it is comfortable for the player.
USA Lacrosse was the first governing body to mandate the NOCSAE standard, requiring all goalies in girls’ and boys’ lacrosse to wear protectors that meet the ND200 standard. Beginning in 2022, the rule will extend to all field players in boys’ and men’s lacrosse. Compliance with the standard will further enhance player safety and help prevent catastrophic injuries. The NCAA and NFHS also require the NOCSAE standard.
All chest protectors and shoulder pads that meet the NOCSAE ND200 performance standard must contain the NOCSAE lacrosse logo and the SEI certification mark (shown below) on both the packaging and the product to be legal for play. Products are now available through manufacturers and retailers.
Consumers are also encouraged to check the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) website under Program: Chest Protectors (Lacrosse) to verify that the specific brand is listed as approved.
Sticks
Sticks are composed of shafts and heads. Complete sticks can be purchased at a reasonable cost. In general these sticks will come with an alloy shaft that is fine for new players, and a head that is designed for new players.
LBL has partnered with Dick’s Clothing and Sporting Goods who offers a wide range of equipment for players of all levels.
Uniforms
Uniforms are the same from year to year. Once you purchase a uniform you can use it for as long as it fits.
