Girls Program
The Lower Bucks Lacrosse Girls Program is for girls in PreK through 8th grade. Our program is designed to develop our young athletes to become complete lacrosse players with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the game. We do this by stressing individual skills within the team play concept. We follow the US Lacrosse Lacrosse Athlete Development Model (LADM) to guide our training and philosophy.
Our goal is to foster a love and respect for the game of lacrosse and to provide our girls with the skills necessary for successful interscholastic high school and hopefully college careers. We compete against other teams in the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse League (PAGLA).
No previous experience is required for any of the age groups. We encourage new players to join at any level. It is never too late to start playing lacrosse.

DIVISIONS
Girls teams are broken down by age and ability level. Player evaluations are held in January to help the coaches assess the skill level of each player and place each boy on the appropriate team. Teams are entered into the PAGLA division where we believe they will have the greatest chance at success.
All players in these divisions are required to have full equipment. If your daughter is looking for a basic introduction to lacrosse, check out our TryLax Program.

The season begins in early March and runs through mid-May.
Time commitment: 1 practice during the week, 1 practice on Saturday and a couple of local scrimmages toward the end of the season.
Cost: $130 per player

GIRLS 3rd/4th GRADE
This division is for girls in 3rd & 4th grade. In addition to in-house games, we will play games against other local clubs and attend a tournament. The season begins in early March and runs through May. Games will be played in a 7 vs. 7 format on half size fields with regulation goals.

Girls Equipment
To participate in girl’s lacrosse, you will need a stick, mouth guard, goggles, and cleats. Players are not permitted to participate in practices or games without both a mouthguard and goggles.
For those new to the sport, you can purchase a starter stick and goggles from any big box sporting goods store; just be sure to purchase a girls stick, as the boy’s sticks have different lengths and pockets, and are not permitted in the girls game. If you are purchasing your equipment in season, see your coach for lacrosse equipment coupons from our partner, Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Uniforms are the same from year to year. Once you purchase a uniform you can use it for as long as it fits.
Goalies
USA Lacrosse was the first governing body to mandate the NOCSAE standard, requiring all goalies in girls’ and boys’ lacrosse to wear protectors that meet the ND200 standard. Beginning in 2022, the rule will extend to all field players in boys’ and men’s lacrosse. Compliance with the standard will further enhance player safety and help prevent catastrophic injuries. The NCAA and NFHS also require the NOCSAE standard.
All chest protectors and shoulder pads that meet the NOCSAE ND200 performance standard must contain the NOCSAE lacrosse logo and the SEI certification mark (shown below) on both the packaging and the product to be legal for play. Products are now available through manufacturers and retailers.
Consumers are also encouraged to check the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) website under Program: Chest Protectors (Lacrosse) to verify that the specific brand is listed as approved.
